Maria Pestrikoff of Kodiak, Alaska, managed to fall sixty feet down a cliff because she was too busy texting. Last recorded text message read "brb - signal's dropping" (not really).
Anthony Burke, a friend of Pestrikoff, was quoted as saying "She was in the rocks between the boulders and she was calling for help. She was screaming in agony." It's unsure whether 'calling for help' means actually yelling, or tweeting about it.
The emergency services staged a daring rescue and Pestrikoff is currently recovering in the Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center.
On the plus side, she's now the Mayor of 'The Side Of A Cliff' on foursquare (probably).
