Pfc. Isaace Lawrence Young, 22, of Texas was unfortunately shot dead last Sunday while watching football by Pfc. Patrick Edward Myers, who was trying to scare away his friend's hiccups with a loaded gun.
Believing there to be dummy bullets in the gun, Myers waved it in the general direction of the hiccuping Young in an attempt to help and accidentally shot him in the face.
Myers has been charged with manslaughter and is being held on a $1 million bond.
Relevant fact: The only scientifically proven way to cure hiccups is to consciously regulate your breathing, as they're caused by spasms of the diaphragm forcing air out of the lungs. According to this story, knowing that might just save your life.
